How I can help your charity
Free, with no catchA new website, built for free
If you don't have a website yet, or yours no longer does the job, I'll build you a new one at no cost. It will load quickly and make it easy for people to find what they need.
Mobile-friendly rebuilds
Lots of people will find you on their phone. If your site is hard to read or use on a small screen, I'll rebuild it so it works well on any device.
Fixing broken donation links
A donate button that goes nowhere means lost support. I'll check your donation, volunteering and contact links and fix any that are broken.
Accessibility improvements
I'll make your site easier for everyone to use, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboards or larger text, using the WCAG accessibility guidelines as a checklist.
Handover guides for your team
When the work is done, you get a plain-English guide so your staff and volunteers can update the site themselves, without needing a developer.
How it works
Five steps, start to finishEmail me
Send a short email to hello@alex.codes about your organisation and what you need help with. A rough idea is fine.
I review your site
I look at your current website, if you have one, and come back to you with what I'd suggest and why.
We agree a scope
Together we agree what I'll do and roughly when, so everyone knows what to expect. Nothing gets built until you're happy with the plan.
I build it
I build or fix the site and keep you updated as I go. You can check everything before it goes live.
I hand it over
You get the finished site and a plain-English handover guide, so your team can keep it up to date.

Questions charities ask.
Is it really free?
Yes. I don't charge for my time, and there's no catch. If your site needs something you have to pay for, like a domain name, I'll tell you before we start so there are no surprises.
How long does it take?
It depends on what you need. Fixing a broken link can be quick, while a new website takes longer. Once I've looked at your site and we've agreed the scope, I'll give you a realistic timeline before any work starts.
Do I need to pay for hosting?
Usually not. The sites I build can often run on a free hosting plan, so the main cost is your domain name, if you don't already have one. If your site does need paid hosting, I'll explain the cost and why before we start.
Do you only work with charities in Ipswich?
No. I'm based in Ipswich and happy to meet groups in person around Suffolk, but I also work remotely with charities, CICs and community groups anywhere in the UK.
Tell me about your charity.
Whether you need a whole new website or one broken link fixing, email me with a little about your organisation and what you'd like help with. I'm based in Ipswich, happy to meet in person around Suffolk, and work with groups UK-wide, remote.
